Good Friday is the most solemn day of Holy Week, on which the Church commemorates the Passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. As part of the sacred Triduum, this liturgy invites us to stand at the foot of the Cross and contemplate the depth of Christ’s sacrificial love for the redemption of the world.
In accordance with the ancient tradition of the Church, the Good Friday liturgy is marked by simplicity and reverence. There is no celebration of the Holy Eucharist; instead, we gather for the solemn liturgy of the Word, the chanting of the Passion Gospel, the Solemn Collects, the veneration of the Cross, and the reception of Holy Communion from the reserved sacrament.
